Feng Shui Communities in Development

Feng Shui for Home Builders
I think it is safe to say that all of my loyal readers want to be in a home that is a model of positive Feng Shui.

But, imagine if that model home were the model home of a new neighborhood that had an all-encompassing positive Feng Shui experience.

Are you tired of going to look at home listings only to find that the house is on a T-intersection or the stairs are directly on the other side of the front door?

Real Estate Feng Shui ConsultationsSomething New
Imagine instead going to a community knowing that none of the houses will suffer from such Feng Shui problems.

I was recently hired by a major Fortune 500 home builder that plans to develop such neighborhoods right here in Southern California.

As a Feng Shui consultant to this developer, I have been and will continue to provide Feng Shui training to their site planners, architects, and landscape architects.

Through my training and design reviews, I will help to ensure that nearly every element of the community designs, from overall street layouts and home floor plans, to the location of certain types of trees and plants, will adhere to rules of Feng Shui design that so many of you seek out when looking for a new home.

Want to find out more about these new Feng Shui communities? Stay tuned to my blog for more information to come in the next several months as we move from planning to building and eventually staging!

Feng Shui T-Intersection Cure / Front Door Cure

Feng Shui Convex Bagua Mirror

Place your convex Bagua mirror above your door on the interior wall facing toward the street. Yes, you won’t actually see the mirror.

The Feng Shui for a house on a T-intersection or for a home with a front door lining up with a neighbor’s front door can be quite overwhelming with negative energy, or Chi.

I have a previous blog post that goes into more details why a T-intersection is so dangerous.  I won’t re-hash those issues here.

Fortunately, there are cures for a home on a T-intersection!

Convex Bagua Mirror Cure
The simplest Feng Shui cure for houses like this is a convex bagua mirror.

Just hang it above your front door facing the street with the intention of reflecting all the bad Chi out before it even has a chance to come into the house.

If you don’t want it to be seen from the outside of the house, then you can still hang it from inside of the house above the doorway.

Either way, be sure the reflective side of the mirror is facing out to the street or the neighbor’s front door.

Yes, if the mirror is inside of your house, you won’t actually see the reflection when you look at the bagua because the reflective part of the mirror will be against the wall.

Even though the actual objects are not being reflected by the mirror, you are still reflecting the Chi, so it will work fine.

Feng Shui at a T-Intersection

This sign should actually mean, “Keep Out!”

Next Steps
Remember, T-intersections and front doors lining up can be a serious problem in Feng Shui.

Don’t ignore them!

While the above is a quick cure, it won’t necessarily provide long-term benefits to those living on a T-intersection.  Read about more lasting Feng Shui cures on my cul-de-sac post, which also applies to T-intersections.

If this simple cure doesn’t seem to work, even short-term, there may be more Feng Shui factors involved with your particular home.

Buying a New Home? Ensure it Has Good Feng Shui.

Real Estate Feng Shui for BuyersWhen you are looking to buy a home, this is your biggest opportunity to ensure the greatest Feng Shui gains.

So, here are a few major things that we should consider in a home.

Where to Start
A big tree in front of the house (bigger then the home itself) is bad.

Also, you should keep the placement of the front door in mind.

When you open the front door into the house what do you see straight ahead of you?

If it’s a door that is in line with your stairs, back door or a fireplace, the Feng Shui energy, or “Chi”, can quickly escape without providing your household elements any benefit.

Ideal Feng Shui House Shapes
Is the house in a nice geometrical shape of a square or rectangular shape?

This is ideal for Feng Shui.

Odd-shaped homes can be quite difficult to Feng Shui appropriately.

Further, you could be completely missing a section of the Feng Shui bagua with some odd-shaped homes.

Street Placement
The home’s placement on the street can be quite important, as well.

We generally don’t like homes that lay at the top-center of a T-intersection.

We also don’t like the end of the street, so stay away from cul-de-sac homes.

We like a home that backs up to a nicely kept hill, as the hill can offer protection.

Next Steps
These are just some of the things to look out for when looking to buy a new home.

But, this doesn’t mean that there is no hope for homes that have any of these things.

There are cures for many of the problems listed above.

It would be best to bring in a Feng Shui consultant to give you some advice regarding your new home before you buy and again before moving in.

This will ensure that you get the maximum benefit of positive energy through Feng Shui.

Good luck finding that perfect home!

Front Doors and Feng Shui

Feng Shui Front Door Cures

About the only good Feng Shui in this home’s front door is the welcome mat!

What do you see when you open the front door into your home?

Do you see your back door to the patio? Do you see a fire place? How about the stairs?

If these things are the very first thing you see as soon as you open your door into your house, your Feng Shui energy flowing into your house called Chi can go straight out the back door, out the chimney and up the stairs, all before it can give energy to any other parts of the house.

Sometimes, such door placements can also drain the energy of the house.

You might feel like the house is sucking the life right out of you.

You can slow down the energy going striaght out by putting some plants in it’s pathway or use some red tape to slow down the energy.

You might even be able to use a crystal to spread that Chi around, just as the same crystal spreads light around.

For more information about the area around your front door, read about the Career /Business / Life Path section of your Bagua.

Don’t let your energy drain away.

Slanted Ceilings and Feng Shui

Feng Shui Slanted CeilingsIf you spend a lot of time in a space where the ceiling slants down towards you (above the bed, or above your desk), you may be in a situation where the chi is “smashing down” on you and disturbing your personal energies.

You can place a mirror facing up with the intention that you are reflecting, or lifting the ceiling back up.
Place this mirror somewhere between the top of your head and the ceiling, so that the energy is reflected away before it comes crashing down on you.
For more information about your bedroom, read up on the Relationship corner of the Bagua.
