Free Feng Shui Consultations

I broke a major Feng Shui rule the other day. Yes, me. And I’m a Feng Shui consultant!

Feng Shui Health

Gratitude and Value

We should always exchange gratitude in advance of getting something, whether it be from a person or the life-giving energy of Feng Shui called Chi.

We also exchange value for services or goods provided, regardless of our need for what we receive. We can pay for those goods or services with money, return of other services, other goods, etc. But, nothing of value in life comes for free. The same is true with Feng Shui.

Along with a sad story, an acquaintance recently asked me to take a look at their home and provide Feng Shui advice for free.  And I reluctantly agreed.

Feng Shui Prosperity & Wealth -Money & Gold

I get these sad stories and requests all of the time. After all, rarely do people seek out Feng Shui advice when everything in life is perfect. Many people seeking a Feng Shui consultant’s advice are having difficulty with money and have relationship or career challenges. These are the aspects of their lives that they want to change.

From my experience, those who don’t pay consulting fees don’t truly value the consultant’s experience and expertise in Feng Shui. They tend to second-guess their consultant’s advice, which often makes things worse.  It happens every time.

But, when people truly follow good Feng Shui advice, they seriously end up with more wealth, improved health, stronger relationships, etc.

Feng Shui Road Map

Road Map to Success

As it pertains to your personal life, think of professional Feng Shui advice as a road map. If you were at your hotel and received directions from the concierge on how to drive to the local 5-star restaurant, you don’t stop following the directions after the first or second turn.

Rather, you need to follow the directions until you reach your desired destination. Otherwise, you may end up someplace else entirely… and potentially in a very unsafe neighborhood!

Feng Shui is like a road map with directions to get from where you are to where you want to be. Just as with Google Maps, there are multiple ways to get to your destination.

If you go to three different Feng Shui consultants, you may very well get three different schools of advice on how to change your life, just as you may get differing directions from three different hotel employees to get to that 5-star restaurant.

Does that mean that any of those consultants or hotel employees are wrong? Absolutely not!

Should you, however, take only part of any one set of advice or even take parts of everyone’s advice? Probably not. You may end up much worse than you started.

Your Next Steps

If you are looking to make real positive change in your life:

1) Find someone you trust, whether it is a Feng Shui consultant, a life coach or a potential mentor.
2) Offer them something of value to help you, whether it is their consulting or coaching fee, a few nice lunches, or a service like painting their garage.
3) When they accept to help you, take their advice seriously. Take notes, ask questions, and make sure you completely understand all of the steps necessary to make the changes you need to take.
4) Implement their advice — step-by-step. Do not skip anything.
5) Be patient and double-check to make sure you followed all of the steps correctly.
6) If you have questions, just go back and ask.

    Hello
I am in need to ask, i bought a feng shui item yesterday it was quite pricy my friend came with me he was asking for some stuffs also then when we were abou to pay he didnt buy the item, the vendor was frustrated. Will the feng shui items I bought be affected by the negative reaction of the vendor? Im just worried if my feng shui items was received with frustrations which is a negative energy.

Maybe you can enlighten me if I have to keep the items or not?
    Thanks
    Advance happy chinese new year

    • Jessie Kim says:

I am so sorry to hear that you had an issue with buying Feng Shui items. Just like any other items you purchase for your home, you want to make sure it comes in with Happy and Positive energy. If you are not satisfied with the experience of purchasing the items I would return them or give it a good cleansing before placing them around your home. To be safe, I try to cleanse any large items or special items I purchase for the home, before placing them.

  2. Gayle says:

My house has the front door facing the south. It is also a driveway the length of the property. Around 3 sides of the house including the driveway/ front door, there is what I call a moat for drainage. At the end of the driveway is a garden flat which my brother occupies. We have been feeling drained and unwell. I forgot to mention adjacent to drive is an underground storm water drain.
I know from what I’ve read IT washes away energy and Wealth.
    Can you help?

    • Jessie Kim says:

So it seems like you do have some drainage issues but if you own your home, can you do some gardening? How about planting a low shrubs or colorful flowers along the sides of the drain so you can’t see it directly from your driveway or from front yard. Planting some low flower bed can help cover up the sight of the drain and colorful flowers will keep the focus, keeping the energy from draining out.

  3. Joy says:

    Hi Ms. Feng Shui,

I have 2 lucky cats white (hanging) and gold (display with moving paw). I hanged the white on the front screen door and the gold on top of the ref facing the main door. We also plan to have aquariums to be placed in front of the main door (left side when facing the door outside). Just want to ask if the locations for the 2 lucky cats and aquariums were ok to attract wealth and positive energy? Thanks

    • Jessie Kim says:

Adding these items are in the final stages of Feng Shui-ing your space. If your entire home has gone through a full Feng Shui review, decluttered, everything is where it should be then you can stir up more energy by adding on these items to your space. I use these items as a reminder for attracting wealth, telling myself that “I attract wealth and these “guardians” are helping me along the way”.

  4. Ana says:

    Hi,

I have a window in the south west corner of my bedroom. My bedroom is itself in the north west and north part of the house. I have been having problems with my love life. I have tried a lot of bed postions and decluttering but nothing has happened. DO you think the window is the cause? Thank you

    • Jessie Kim says:

It’s hard to say, in Feng Shui all your space works together to create a harmonious energy to attract the positive energy for you. I can’t say it’s just that window or not, without know what else is going on in your space. Bedroom is most important when it comes to Love and Relationship energy but you also need to look at the opposite side of your bagua as well. What about your knowledge corner, is it clear for you to be “knowledgeable” when you meet the right person?

  5. Paula says:

A busy street runs right to my front door. It travels six miles before it ends right at my front door – no, literally, we’ve had SEVERAL wrecks in our front yard, including a drunk driver who’s car caught on fire literally six feet from my front door. The house has been here (complete with traffic pattern) for 75 years. A turning lane lines up with the front door and the rest of the traffic is diverted around the yard to the east. I feel (I could be wrong) that all this traffic energy runs right through the front door, through the livingroom, hallway, and into a bedroom (with an east facing exterior door). This is a high traffic street with thousands of cars passing daily. We have constant chaos and clutter. I’m tired of it but don’t have the money to move (or hire a professional feng shui expert). I was raised in this house and have lived here 46 years. Please, please, please recommend a way to improve this energy flow. Change the type or improve the energy, stop the flow, anything. The front door faces north and the traffic that flows towards the house travels south. I can send photos that would be helpful if you’ll let me know what you need. Can you please give me advice as to what to do (inside OR outside) to improve this?

    • Jessie Kim says:

      Hi Paula,
You have just described a main reasons of difficulties that faces a home in a T-intersection or End of a Cul-De-Sac or at a Dead End street.
I would recommend building a strong pillars in front of your home that faces the street to physically stopping the on coming cars, if that’s not an option then, at least bushes that will grow to be a medium height… On top of it all you can do a traditional way of hanging a Bagua mirror above the front door to face out into the street. You can get a Convex Bagua (one the pops out)mirror to “push” the harmful energy that is coming straight into your home. Another traditional way of helping “fix” this issue is having a red door. Red has a tendency to attract as well as to deflect energy. So in this case it will be like a STOP sign, to stop the fast moving energy, and to slow down the flow into your home. Inside the home you can hang crystals along the ceiling of the hallway from the front door leading to the back. Don’t know how much space you have in between but you can hang a traditional crystal with red string on the ceiling or replace the ceiling lights with crystal light fixtures as well. I hope these tips help and I wish you all the best.

  6. Janie says:

    Hey there,
I have my staircase going directly down to the main front door. There is very little room between the stairs and the front main door. I hoped to counteract it with placing a plant behind the door and a mirror on the wall which is located to the right of the door. I was wondering if placing a fish tank on top of the stairs against the wall would be considered bad luck or good luck? I have an open concept home where the kitchen, living room and dining room can be seen as soon as you walk up. Can you please help me with this dilemma?

    • Jessie Kim says:

Don’t place a fish tank on top of the stairs, that’s more of your energy draining down the stairs and out the front door. I would put the plant at the top of the stairs so the kitchen and dining are not the first thing you see when you walk up. You can leave the mirror by the front door to “push” the energy back up. Maybe putting up a room divider up the stairs to stop the energy from “rolling” down the stairs out the front door. Wish you all the best.

  7. Hi, I’m Marcus

I lived in Australia and own a retail shop, with full front glass and glass door. Just directly at my Store front, there are Static Bollards, are they bad? if so how can I press this bad energy down. Thank you.

    Thank you,
    Marcus

    • Jessie Kim says:

If your front door is really close to the Static Bollards, you can place a bagua mirror above your front door to push the energy away from your front door. If you can hang a wind chime by your front door, you can do that as well to “excite or stir up” the energy in front of your store.

  8. Calista says:

    Hi,

There is this money frog that has been around for a while, but I’m noticed wherever it goes, money/opportunities will be lost almost immediately. Is it possible for a feng shui item to bring bad luck instead, and how can I properly dispose of this particular item? Thank you

    • Jessie Kim says:

Where is this frog getting moved to? How old is this frog? Yes, sometimes they can have a negative effect as well… maybe you need to spend money to make more money? or is rest of your space in good Feng Shui order before these items are added?
You want to make sure the frog is facing IN to the house, not facing a window or a door, that leads the energy to “jump” out of the house. Also if the frog is from someone else, or been used for awhile, it might be a good time for good cleaning to revive the energy or time to replace it.

  9. Calista says:

Thank you for replying! It was given by someone to my ex boss, and not long after that the business had to close down. I think it would probably be best for me to dispose of it. Is it ok to just wrap it in newspaper and throw it out like normal, as I’ve read on other websites? Or is there a better way?

  10. Jessie Kim says:

Yes, ex-boss, closed business… not a good energy to have… You are suppose to wrap it in red paper or red fabric and throw it in fast moving water, traditionally… but I don’t need you to do that. Just wrap it in red paper and put it in the trash on trash day.

  11. Yulia says:

    Hi,
Is it please possible to book fung shui consultation with you?

    Many thanks,

    Yulia

  12. Monika says:

I need some advice from you.

We recently moved to a new home. The new neighbors have recently started parking off their car turning the head of car towards our front entrance. This seem annoying to us, they used to park their car with the back of the car towards our home but has recently started parking with the front of the car facing our home.

Please advice which mirror should I use to deflect that energy? (concave/convex/flat).

Also, the back side of my house is adjacent to other neighbors backyard wherein an aggressive dog barks all day and night long facing our home , this dog already bit my neighbors son once, they do not care to put him inside. This is really bothering to us and our family. Kindly advice which mirror should I hang the the front entrance and the back side of the house.

    Many thanks
    Monika

    • Jessie Kim says:

Greetings, Monika! I am so sorry to hear about your situations with the neighbor’s car and the barking dog. You can hang a convex mirror both in front and at the back of the house. Convex mirrors will help “push” those unwanted energies away from your home. If you can, I would hang a low tone metal windchime at the back of your house to “defuse” the barking dog noise energy. Also, I would contact your HOA (if you have one) and/or your local Animal Control about what they would suggest doing for excessively barking dogs. Good luck!

  13. Chelo says:

    HI,

I’m wondering where I should place my bed because the south side of bedroom has the window, the west side of my room have the door and closet. If I place my bed on the east wall I would have trouble gaining access to my closet, and I place it on the north side of the wall my bed would be adjacent to the door.

    • Jessie Kim says:

Hi Chelo! The best option is to place the head of your bed against a solid wall without being directly in line with any the entry or bathroom doorways, if possible. Your second option would be to have the head of the bed against the wall with the window. The worst positions are to have the head of the bed against the wall with a door or have a door align with your bed.

    • Jessie Kim says:

I should also mention, Chelo, that this blog post has much more info about bed position with some graphics that might be more helpful.

  14. Chelo says:

Yes, it helped me a lot, Thank you for replying

  16. Jonathon says:

    Hi,

We are looking for the our parcel of land to build our home. The one we want to get the house would face south with a south facing front door as well. We can change the layout around for the home and really wanted to put our kitchen in the back of the home in the south but with this land the south will be in the front? Any suggestions? We don’t really want to put it by the front door. Not sure if it’s better to keep it at the back in the north or move it to the front and either way use some cures. Thank you for any suggestions.

    • Jessie Kim says:

Hello, Jonathon! I’d be happy to help with a consultation but you’ll want to first understand the differences between the schools of feng shui. It sounds like you’re pulling in elements from multiple schools, which can add a lot of confusion to the situation you’re trying to solve. Read up on the types of feng shui and reach out for a consultation if you like the simpler method that I practice. From the limited information I have, I’m much more concerned about the elements on and the surroundings of the land you’re looking to acquire than the compass direction of the home. I look forward to hearing from you!
